Speaking Test Structure
The speaking test is divided into three parts, each testing different aspects of your spoken English.
Part 1: Introduction & Interview
4-5 minAnswer general questions about yourself, your home, work, studies, and interests. This lasts 4-5 minutes.
Part 2: Long Turn
3-4 minSpeak for 1-2 minutes on a given topic card. You have 1 minute to prepare. This tests your ability to speak at length.
Part 3: Discussion
4-5 minA deeper discussion on topics related to Part 2. The examiner asks abstract questions requiring analysis and opinion.
